Probably not quite on topic. XLR8 was a company in the 90s that made processor accelerators for PPC Macs. They were a highly regarded engineering outfit with first rate cards. I wonder if there is a relationship, does not seem too likely, but who knows. The name is sort of unique.

I doubt it, although who knows. This is a drive by PNY, XLR8 is the model line for it (it's the high performance of the PNY offerings).

It could have been anything that caused PNY to use the XLR8 moniker, even though wove's story is coincidental.

Yeah, I looked some more and it is fairly common moniker. It's a fillipeno boy's band. It is a high performance car shop in Fresno, and exercise place in New York. So I guess maybe you could add some improved performance to the 'vette as well as to the computer.

Not surprising. At any rate, if someone needs a performance drive that doesn't break the bank, I'm willing to say the PNY XLR8 is a fine purchase.

I BELIEVE for now I'm done with buying upgrades. Of course, I've said that before and been proven wrong by my spotting something shiny...

OOOOOh shiny new stuff count me in. I try and cut back, but I am an addict and after a bit of withdrawal, I succumb and start looking at baubles all over again.
