Most of these arent that well known, but Slackware and Peppermint are pretty popular.

TrueOS was really big in the news (open source news at least) for all the wrong reasons last year when they changed their name. Still massively dislike the new name.

True OS is based on FreeBSD and in the top ten over at distrowatch.com, really dont know why as its not very good.

I haven't used it in years, and doubt I'd ever try it again given how stupid the name TrueOS is compared to the original pc-bsd (which tells you it's focus AND what kernel & tools it uses in one nice, simple name).

Agree as I tried originally before i came over to the other site and really hated the experience. There was nothing I could recommend to users about this OS. Tried it again recently, much better but still a pain in the butt to use.
