Coreboot on Chromebook

I came across this the other day. <https://mrchromebox.tech> The aim of the project is to flash Coreboot on a Chrome OS device. This allows one to more or less run a standard Linux on a Chromebook. It looks like it is mostly aimed toward retaining usability on Chrome devices that Google has stopped supporting.

I do not have a Chrome OS device and do not know how well this works or even how suitable a cheap Chromebook would be as regular Linux device. But I am always fascinated by projects of this nature. Coreboot is used by System 76 on their laptops and it can be flashed onto many older Thinkpads. It is an open source replacement for EFI/BIOS.
