4.2001 Space Odyssey
5.Godzilla original with Raymond Burr
6.Earth vs Flying Saucers

20. Beast from 20000 Fathoms

Forbidden Planet was in my opinion the best scifi movie of all time and many of its concepts were found in particular with Star Trek and other similar style space movie/series. The special effects were well before their time and the overall presentation still holds up well today.

Agree totally on ALL of your selection..!!!😁 I saw Fiend without a Face when I was about 8 years old. Scared the Hell out of me..! It's similar to the Hammer movie "Island of Terror" with Peter Cushing.
Has anyone seen a British Sci-fi horror movie called " The Projected Man "..? I saw it when I was 10, it gave me nightmares for years..!😵😵

I loved Quatermass and the Pit, otherwise known as 5 million years to Earth. The remake of the Blob, was way better than the original. Even Son of the Blob, was better than the original. I thought Conquest of Space, was actually a really good movie, another George Pal movie. His Time Machine was excellent, also.
Speaking of a movie that was so bad, it was good, was 1964's The Flesh Eaters, directed by Jack Curtis. It falls into that Sci-fi/ Horror category. Check it out, if you haven't seen it.

Time Machine with Rod Taylor was very good and agree 5 million years to Earth is also good. I still remember seeing in the theaters The Mysterians , a Japanese scifi space combat flick and it was really good.

One of my FAVORITE sci-fi movies from the 60's is a British movie, by Gerry and Sylvia Anderson called " Journey To The Far Side of the Sun" also called " Doppelganger " starring Roy Thinnes, Herbert Lom and Lynn Loring. The special effects for that time frame were Amazing..!
This was a predecessor to the TV series "UFO" and later, "Space: 1999" .

Im a huge Gerry Anderson fan and had been watching Fireball XL, Supercar and Thunderbirds when I was younger. Doppelganger is an excellent film and I wish they had done more films outside of the Thunderbird films.
Barbarella was a great film and she was so hoy.
In regards to Robbie the Robot he never appeared in Lost in Space as they had their own iteration of the service robot.

Actually, Robby the robot appeared in 2 episodes of Lost in Space. The first (season one) was the episode "War of the Robots" a black and white episode, which he went toe to track with the B3 robot. The second was from season two, a color episode called " Space Prisoners " which was actually featured on a 3 disc " View Master" pack. If anyone remembers or knows what I am talking about..? :geek:
