The American Academy of Sleep Medicine posted a report and recommendation for the permanent change to Standard time across America. Of course they arent saying it couldnt be daylight savings but want to stop the changing of time twice a year, due to its harmful health affects that have been heavily researched and documented.

Actually Ive seen some other reports that quite a few states are considering making the change themselves rather than wait for a national policy.
My state of Virginia is considering it and it will be interesting to see what they do next year after elections.

Simple answer - come October we put the clocks back 30 minutes - and then leave it alone. That way there will be small compromises on both sides and at least everyone will be just a little unhappy.
Of course that will be hugely difficult because it will require all sorts of extra work on computer systems and millions of other issues no doubt......so this argument will just keep popping up ad nauseam.
No doubt the orange one will declare the earth should be moved on its axis to fix it.

Posted this because tlmiller is such a devout hater of DST and went to Arizona partly because of it. I dont want to have 2 clock changes a year, any way they can make that happen, but its not a deal breaker. Wont be moving to Arizona anytime soon.

I prefer having all the seasons and the fact that we have a more green landscape here. Virginia of all the many places Ive lived is my favorite.

I lived just east of Front Royal VA, in the Blue Ridge for 15 years. I must agree that of all the places I have lived Virginia was is favorite.

My favorite place to live for me was Grand Rapids, MI. Nice and cool, with a nice lake breeze year round (mind you, in winter the breeze wasn't pleasant).
