Freespire 6.0 released

Post by tlmiller »

Fore more, see the official announcement.

I'm actually playing around with this in a VM at work. I may not want to be here today.

Well, it does work just fine. I see no real reason to use it over Ubuntu Mate given it's based on 18.04 the same, and includes nothing of note that isn't available in Ubuntu Mate except the Freespire configuration, which isn't even all that great IMO. Still, I kept the resources rather limited and it ran great in the VM, so it does accomplish what it's designed for, it runs well on lower resource machines.

Unless you're desperate for the Freespire look, it can be skipped. It's really nothing but a new theme to Ubuntu Mate.

I like Mate but Mint so far is my favorite overall.
