I brought the Dell E6440 back out and stuck it in the Dell Edock. I added more ram to 16gb, a 256gb ssd with Zorin. Running very well and Ill use it for testing distros.

Tested the e6440 and the only issue that cropped up is with the Edock as Zorin initially cant get a lock at GUI but tapping the power button brings it back up.

Installed Fedora Silverblue on e6440 and except for issues at install with the Edock I continued the install without the dock and everything went fine.

Dropped Fedora SilverBlue as it has too many issues and I dont think Im ready to use an immutable distro at this point. Ive switched to Zorin OS and Im adding 16gb to all my Dell Optiplex 7010 USFF as well.

The Dell Optiplex 7010 SFF turned out to be the best choice as my Linux test system. Had some issues with the USFF systems and had to get rid of them. Their small size creates more heat issues and its a lot tougher to reach the ssd versus the sff which is very easy.

Ive run 7 different distros with OpenMandriva 23.03 the latest and this system had been great for testing. Swapping out ssds is easy, i can use USB drives or DVDs if I choose and the system has decent spped for testing. I prefer to test on hardware even though I initially look at distros with live media.

Ive completely refurbished it and its running great. 16gb of ram, a i5 3470s 2.9ghz cpu, with a 256g sata ssd. It runs Win10 and Linux really well and takes up very little space with its 10"L x 2.5"W x 9.5"H size. Remove one screw and the side cover comes off giving access to the entire system.
