www.betanews.com reported its release but I dont see it on their site nor on Distrowatch yet.

What I do not get is why Ubuntu based stuff is just so huge.
A comprehensively packaged up Debian Mate - SparkyLinux installs at 6.7gb with a 1.8gb iso
Mint MATE comes in at over 9gb with a 2.4gb iso
Madness.

Mint has a lot of features and goodies now so Im not surprised its as large as it is. Doesnt really bother me as Ive got large ssds and many of the features I like. Zorin isnt a small install either but its a great distro. Most od the distros I use Mageia for instance is around 2.4gb or higher. You dont see many distros below 2gb.
