Finally the Pinebook Pro is a real laptop.

Post by wove »

It has been 9 quarters since I got the Pinebook Pro and finally I have it setup as a fine working laptop. The other day I succeded in getting the /root working from the nvme drive but boot partition was on a USB. Today I got the boot partition working internally as well. So Pinocchio is now a real boy.

The nvme is substantially faster than either the SD card, emmc, or USB, so preformance is excellent and I am a happy camper. As far as I can recall it has never taken me two years to get a piece of hardware working well. However I now have a nicely functioning laptop that is both open source hardware as well as open source software.

Glad that worked out for you. I just went backwards to my Dell Optiplex 7010 MT with Win 7 for gaming as the recent situation just doesnt suit me much anymore. Run hardware that suits your needs.
