Because SO MUCH of the fixes in this release were Wayland, I decided to try it out now on my Neon install...
So far, I'd still say it's....iffy.
Keeps reverting my cursor back to plain boring cursors for a moment. Ksnip cannot do rectangular captures or active window captures (instead does window under cursor). It still crashes some. However, it IS usable, so huge improvements from when I last tried Wayland with Plasma.

Re: KDE 5.23 released
Just updated Neon and so far all is good. I use the default cursor so no issues, dont use Ksnip so dont know but all apps and multimedia uses seem to be fine. Overall look isnt that different than my other KDE distro installs and Ive never used a lot of effects anyway so in my case its fine. Im a pretty stock user of distros and only customize a few of those I use. I switch between distros a lot so its really not worth my while to get too invested in customizing and appearance.
Zorin is the most customized of all my distros, Neon the least.

Re: KDE 5.23 released
So on Wayland at least, Spectacle CAN capture a rectangular region, and now has the ability to do annotations, but unfortunately no way to tell the program to open the capture in annotator, so the only way to do it is to use the full Spectacle gui. Sad, this was the biggest reason I moved away from Spectacle, the inability to do annotations. I might return to it if they add the ability to "open annotator" in post-capture settings.

Re: KDE 5.23 released
I havent had much luck with Wayland, but it varies wildly between distros.

Re: KDE 5.23 released
My Neon install is the first time I've attempted Wayland in like 18 months or so. Last I attempted it, my attempt lasted like 15 minutes, and after the 4th or 5th time Plasma had crashed I gave up. So massive improvement at least in that regards. I figure since I use it the least of my systems I won't REALLY be bothered that badly by weird issues, and can start getting used to Wayland, as it's REALLY stable with Gnome, and Plasma is rapidly approaching being totally usable.
Re: KDE 5.23 released
I have installed Endeavour OS in Boxes. It is pretty nice and it updated to Plasma 5.23.
I have trouble with using Pacman and getting all the software I need installed. At the moment I can not figure out how to get the Kontact components (Kmail, Kaddressbook, Calendar) to sync up with NextCloud. In Gnome NextCloud shows up in "Online Accounts" in "Settings" and once setup the various PIM parts just see NextCloud. In Endeavour OS the settings app has online accounts, but there is nothing listed there. The calendar and addressbook do not see NextCloud either. I have already installed the NextCloud desktop application and the NextCloud folder is syncing to my home folder and shows up in Dolphin.
Any suggestions as to what components I might be missing to make the connection? thanks
