More here.

Upgraded on my corporate laptop already, and since I'm working from home today, upgrading currently on some of my personal equipment...

Anything different? The updates have been coming pretty quickly.

I don't see a SINGLE difference...Maybe might eventually spot something, but I'm thinking that this was 90% either "under the hood" or Wayland compatibility fixes.

I am curious to see what KDE version ends up with Debian 11's release.

5.20.5, that's where it's at right now, and Debian is in hard freeze, which means it won't be going anywhere.

I can live with it for awhile but down the road I want newer versions.

My concern is it needs to be user friendly and not end up with bug issues.

Well, I think the point of the article is that if stuff is easier to backports, you might see it available via backports more often. So newer QT & Plasma in backports would be a possibility.
I won't personally hold my breath for it to happen, but it's not beyond the realm of possibility. If anything, npreining doing it for a while has shown there's a HUGE demand for a non-archaic plasma version in stable.
