Re: NomadBSD 1.4 released
I have not tried this version of NomadBSD, however the last release was pretty outstanding. While it can be installed to a hard drive, it is designed to run from a USB stick. It allows for encryption even on USB. I am not sure what file system it uses on the USB, but the install defaults to zfs. It uses a simple XFCE desktop with the Plank dock.
Where possible it uses ESR software. It also includes a wide variety of software. Octopi is used as the GUI package manager. Overall if you are familiar with Debian, I think this BSD will feel very comfortable.
