One of the reasons why I went with a standard drive with my gaming rig as Ive got 2gb and 4gb drives for very little cash. Speed issues havent been a factor in game and load times good.

You can get 1TB SSD's for ~$90, so I would never touch another spinning platter in my life except for my NAS. Even if my 2TB backup went up, at this point SSD's cost per GB is low enough I'd replace it with a low end SSD rather than spending the same money on a hard drive. Yes, the drive would have something like 8x the capacity, but add in all the issues with shingled drives being sold without being marked as shingled, and nope, not going to bother trying to buy a "spinning rust" nowadays.

To each his own but I use Seagate drives and havent had any issues. Western Digital was one of the ones that mismarked their drives. My 4gb drive I got for $45 and the 2tb for $30 new so 6TB for $75 is a steal.
A single 6TB drive can be had new for around $75 and a new 8TB drive for $90-100. Youd be surprised how fast my system boots and loads games with these drives.
