Re: Top 5 best rising Linux distros in 2017-2018
Antergos based on Arch, Deepin based on Debian and MX Linux based on Debian have been some of the fastest rising distros in quite some time.
Im presently using MX Linux 17 and its one of the best distros ive ever tried.

Antergos is nice. I do prefer Anarchy (formerly Arch Anywhere), but it's still a very nice distro.

I havent tried Antergos nor Manjaro but Im curious as to why Manjaro has been so much more popular than Antergos. Antergos initially was a niche distro, strange how things can change.

Antergos is a "net"install. You MUST have an active network connection when installing, it cannot be installed offline. It actually takes and simply installs from the mirrors, whereas Manjaro can be installed offline, then hooked up to network and updates performed. This makes Manjaro MUCH easier to install.
Also, while based on Arch, Manjaro DOES NOT use the Arch mirrors, so in theory this should smooth out some of the "bleeding edge unstableness" of Arch.
Also, while the Antergos installer is pretty easy, the Manjaro installer is EXTREMELY similar to the Fedora/RHEL/CentOS installer, which while I'm not a fan because it dumbs things down too much, for a beginner, they are VERY pretty, and VERY easy.

That must be it as it leapfrogged Ubuntu and Debian.
