I think that
elementary OS is usually mentioned only in light of macOS
really sums up Elementary for me. It tries to look and acts like Mac, so I've never even tried to use it, because it turns me off from the get go.

Ive used it quite a bit and tested the recent version. I dont care for the overall design and it still has some problems. I wouldnt say people shouldnt try it but its just like Manjaro, i cant understand why its so highly rated on Distrowatch, when it has more issues than other distros I use.

I've always found it's popularity is directly correlated to it's looking like MacOS, since people generally think that's an attractive OS.

I like the appearance of EOS but too many issues and I like the functionality of XFCE and KDE better.

I'm not really a huge fan of the appearance or functionality. I've never been impressed with the Mac look.

Mac is the one place where when people ask me for help on it they get a blank stare. I've never used the modern MacOS. The only Apple computers I've ever used was a Apple IIe and one of the older AIO macs that had MacOS 7 on it.

Ive used Macs pretty much constantly over the years, usually to help family or clients. I really enjoy the recent products but actually like the older classic products more because they were so unique. I also started on Apple II.
