Ubuntu 21.10 to get rid of .deb Firefox now, as well...
Re: Ubuntu 21.10 to get rid of .deb Firefox now, as well...
I have only used one snap package and that was for a commercial software package and snaps seem to be the only package format that commercial software will use.
I have taken to flatpak and have had good experience with that format. I did have a few problems when I first tried flatpaks, but they seem to have corrected the problems over time. At first web browsers had trouble with permissions accessing the file system. You could start a download, but the download was not saved, as well as problems with the browser accessing the system keychain. Those problems have been corrected.
On Endless OS all the browsers are now flatpaks, and I do not notice any difference in their functionality or speed compared to using .deb version.
