Really impressed with how popular this distro has become. Its up to 7 on distrowatch while Arch has dropped to 16.

I've actually got 3 machines running this at the moment (Latitude 7410 2-in-1, Latitude 7490, Chuwi GemiBook Pro), so that kinda speaks volumes of how highly I think of it, that there's as many running EndeavourOS as there are running Debian.

I visited the Endeavoure OS site, and was impressed and intrigued by what I read. I have always liked distros that use basic upstream desktop environment. I view an OS as the core, and desktops like the eye candy on top that facilitates your work flow.

I have seen mentions of the Chuwi GemiBook Pro several times over the last few months. It is often in reference to FydeOS or Deepin, and I think if you get the Chuwi device from like AliBaba you can have either of those OSes pre-installed. Is it good solid hardware?

Seems to be. It's nothing insanely fast, but it's a desktop Celeron (J4125 to be exact), so 10-watt instead of 6-watt. While it doesn't sound like a lot, it does give better responsiveness as it's probably throttling itself less often due to heat (10-watt is actively cooled, but the fans are quite quiet). The early versions also had 16GB ram (the new ones now only have 12GB), and it has dual m.2 slots (1 of which is used new), the early ones coming with a 512GB SATA m.2 drive (the new ones only have a 256GB). The Screen however is the reason to buy this laptop. It's a VERY nice LCD, 3:2 aspect with 2160x1440 resolution. GORGEOUS display, and if you do spreadsheets, text documents, etc. a lot, that extra vertical space is SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO very useful. It comes with Wifi-6 as well, so very much a modern laptop. It's only real hardware failing is that the m.2 slots DON'T actually support NVMe despite the advertising saying it does (I tested). It's possible this is an issue with the BIOS and can be fixed in the future. I'm not counting on it though. Not that I care, I swapped out the non-easy to reach m.2 slot with a 1 TB and have no need for more than that.

I have a 1920X1280 monitor and I totally agree that the 3:2 aspect ratio is wonderful to work in.

I'd love to find a 24" or 27" 3:2 aspect monitor to use on my docking station. I do have at least a 16:10 aspect (1920x1200) 24" currently, but a bit more height and a bit less width would be nice.

A great deal of energy and writing is devoted to the specs of the laptop or computer and much less devoted to peripherals. A great monitor and keyboard often have more to do with the enjoyable usage of a system than other more esoteric specs. Plus of course a good keyboard and monitor (printers and scanners as well) can give excellent service through several computers.
