It wasnt very awesome as they really havent done much with it and there were many problems I didnt want to deal with. Very unpolished compared to their XFCE version but thats ok, Im enjoying Rosa for the time being.

Just installed MX17 on my Dell D430 and it runs great. Amazing an 11 year old laptop can run so well with a recent Linux distro.

Way back when I liked those D430's. They were one of the first of the "thin and light" that's so popular now.

Ive got four of them, two I purchased and two that were gifts from Dell. My wife loved them but is using a V130 now instead with Windows 7.
I still use them for work as they are nice to carry around and if they get damaged no big deal. They originally had Vista on them, but i cant get over how fast they perform with MX17. I wish they could use 4gb of ram thats a big drawback.

I can't believe how well MX 17 is running on this 10 year old HP. I'm still using Q4OS on my Dell 7010 but I will replace it at some point with MX-17. I just have alot on my plate right now. I tried the Linux Mint, but just don't find it as interesting as MX-17. It just works...! :D

Mint XFCE is very nice and is about as light as MX17 but agree how well MX17 runs on older hardware.

MX17 continues to run up the Distrowatch rankings and may soon move past Debian.

Just wanted to comment how well MX17 runs on on my older hardware and laptops. Ive had no silly issues since I made the move to MX17 and I now use it on almost all my portable systems. Hardware compatibility is the area I think really shines as ive had no issues particulraly in the area of Wifi, as it use to be a sore spot with other distros.

Theres a reason why MX17 now in the top 5 distros over at Distrowatch and climbing.
