It's so simple and clean. The init system is so amazingly easy to use and admin. The system is really very well designed following the KISS principle, and also the basic UNIX concept (do 1 thing, and do it well). It has it's issues as a distro, I won't lie (quite a few, in fact), but as an idea, it's got a LOT to like.

I read thru the reviews on Distrowatch and they were mostly very positive about Void.

Generally people who like the idea of Arch are attracted to Void. If they just had more software available I could probably use this as an every day distro on real hardware. However, the repos are too small for me, and I don't really get their build system (unlike the Arch build system which is quite easy), although I haven't exactly TRIED very hard. But it's gotten stable enough so that it IS usable after fixing a decent number of small issues with it out of the box.

Have you looked at EndeavourOS an Arch based distro that Linuxinsider.com did a review on. https://endeavouros.com

Given the highly modular version of Arch, other than "Arch installer" distro's that do nothing but make it quicker to get it installed, I see no point to Arch-based distro's. They offer nothing of value IMO.

I had used Antergos before (which is what EndeavorOS is essentially a continuation of), and I didn't care for it. The installer was...shitty. It was functional mostly, but wasn't very powerful or very customizable. Honestly the only truly AMAZING Arch distro I ever used was Anarchy, which literally was just scripts to automate the installation of a basic Arch install. I use ArcoLinux now, which works, but I'm not a giant fan.
