Re: Didn't Want to Hear This....
I know what youre going thru as I had a bone spur on the same leg I tore my achilles tendon. It was the worst pain ive experienced in my life so far but weeks of icing, a change of shoes and therapy I was able to get back on my feet.

Thank God it worked for you. I wish I could do the same, but,my Dr. doesn't want me to wait. He says since it's all flared up, the only way to settle it down is the shot....believe me,.. I wish there was another way.....being that I'm alone...I don't have the luxury of a slow heal. I had Achilles tendon injury one time...it was excruciating...!

Its a tough issue as everyone has a bone spur in fact and the tendon comes under the foot and attaches to the area around the bone spur. In my case the therapy stretched out the tendon and allowed the pain to subside but it took quite awhile.

I think cause I had Plantar Faci-itis last year, the Dr. doesn't want to waste time. He said a shot should calm it down in 48-72 hrs....."hopefully"....

Re: Didn't Want to Hear This....
Plantar Fasciitis typically responds better to therapy and seeing a Podiatrist to get orthotics and look at what shoes your wearing. I had issues with it when I was playing tennis and it got quite bad but never did shots. Shots tend to create other issues and weaken the tendons/surrounding tissue, aka Cortisone.. The foot problem I had, had created my knee issue, so fixing one helped th other hugely.

Well...did you hear a far off scream around 10am today..?? LoL.. Had the shot..wasn't as bad as the last time...I'm either getting used to it,or he's really good...anyway, pain is starting to subside. I was contacted by one of my OSHA bosses today, and he asked..." Are you falling apart, or What"....??? My reply was... "Just wait,..you'll be my age,someday".....!
Re: Didn't Want to Hear This....
Didn't hear any screaming...but the whole 2000+ miles MIGHT account for that.
Good it's starting to feel better. My father still regularly gives me the "your times a comin!!" I tease him mercilessly about his age.

Re: Didn't Want to Hear This....
Some of mine is due to age...but ALOT of it is due to fact that when I was in my late teens and early 20's, I used to move 30 ton of aggregate (sand and gravel) by hand....6 days a week...
