I find it tough to watch any "racing" in "gas saving" mode. They're just 2 mutually inexclusive terms. If you're racing, you're not worrying about fuel. If you're worrying about fuel, you're not truly racing.

Amazing race that started with a huge crash at the start then there were many lead changes and changes in strategy. We even had a surprise winner in Sato but very entertaining race. They need more road course races with Indy as its an extremely entertaining versus the oval events. The nature of the cars and drivers now leads to better racing on road courses.

Yeah, I love indy on road courses. Rossi looked like he had this race easily in the bag until the yellows messed up his strategy. But still, not a bad result, only loses 3 points to Dixon so still EASILY in the hunt for the championship. Sucks for the Penske boys, they're all but mathematically eliminated after today.

Looking forward to this one as Id love to see Rossi win it even though Dixon has the better chance.

By far. Although Rossi has shown himself to be really good on the road coarses, and he specifically does have a set of brand new sticker reds still for the race, which he's (from what I read) the only one in the top 6 that does.

With just under a dozen laps to go, assuming nothing major happens, then my thoughts:

Fantastic recovery drive for Rossi to try to finish in a decent position after his early damage.

Dixon wins yet another one. Truly one of the greatest ever Indy drivers. Not the absolutely fastest in a single lap (didn't have a single pole this entire season), but his racecraft and ability to be gentle on the tires when he needs or manage to get better gas mileage truly sets him apart from all other drivers currently in Indy.

For Rossi, no doubt if he keeps with a competitive team he will be an Indy champion, but this year isn't his...

And wow, what a FANTASTIC drive from Pato O'ward!!! Indy Lights champion, and honestly he looked REALLY poor at the beginning of the Indy Lights season, but boy did he ever come on at the second half the season, and impressed like CRAZY in his first ever Indy race!!!
