Whos your insurance company? This seems a bit cut and dry and they can always go after the person who hit you anyway.

My insurance company is Progressive, but since I carried only Comprehensive coverage and not Collision, they won't get involved, it's on me to get the at-fault company to pay.

Im surprised you didnt have collision coverage, as I would assume your car is still worth quite a bit given the prevailing market.

I had stopped carrying it because I drove the car SOOOO infrequently and the price of carrying collision on it was going up every 6 months. I figured the likelihood of MY causing a crash in the car was INSANELY low, and well, I was right. It should be fully covered since I wasn't at fault, State Farm just doesn't want to do their job.

Isnt the car worth a fair amount of money? Id think as a collector car it would be better to have collision.

It had gone up, but wasn't worth THAT much. Still worth close to $20k in the condition it was in, but given it was nearly $60k new, not that much.

$20000 is still a fair chunk of money but yes, compared to $60000.....

Yeah. I'm still hoping that eventually State Farm does what's right and pays me, but unless I can find a lawyer who will assist, I don't think they're going to.

Why wont your insurance company help you go after the other company? Ive had this experience to a lesser degree with one of my cars and Allstate assisted me with talking to the other insurance company.

Since I didn't have collision coverage they won't do anything. Had I known that they wouldn't even assist if I didn't have that coverage, I would have kept it...but then...hindsight is 20/20 they always say.
