Heres a real stupid issue. Apparently one of the Defender updates is causing an issue where thousands to millions of files were being created for no real reason. One user reported that 11GB of space had been used up by Defender.
The second issue is the recent Defender update wouldnt install and gives the typical generic error code that really doesnt help. You can download the files manually and its an .exe file so you run it as admin and you get nothing. It apparently installs silently so you watch your cursor, then check Windows updates to see if it took. Given how much of Win10 has improved the user interface, this type of thing is really unacceptable. Its a series of minor annoyances for most users but you shouldnt have to deal with such nonsense.

May cumulative update went fine with no issues. Updater still doesnt properly prioritize the order for updates which causes a logjam and sometimes having to forcibly restart to solve the issue.

It appears some users with 5.1 audio setups had some issues with the updates, causing a high pitched sound to come from their speakers. I havent had any issues like that so far.

I actually was using Windows yesterday since I wanted to play SW Rebellion. Haven't had that issue either.

21H1 came out recently and is available. Its mostly security updates related to remote work, but some user changes, but overall a fairly small update.

I haven't actually checked for it yet, didn't realize it was released. Guess I'll need to at least update my install USB for work with it.

I got tired of waiting and went over to Microsoft's site and used the update assistant. Two of my laptops got the update but the rest there was nothing.
One laptop had a strange issue where it kept telling me when I went to power down that I had an update/restart but after three tries nothing happened.
Finally out of the blue it seemed to resolve itself. The troubleshooter said nothing was wrong, LOL!!

It took quite awhile to get the 21H1 update to install on my older E3330 with its 1.5ghz cpu but it does have a SSD. Update assistant tends to be a bit slower but it took over 2 hours, very silly. In general Win10 updates take far too long to install and have way to many issues just getting them installed.
They need to streamline this somehow even though I understand that theres a difference between general updates and installing a major version update.
