Windows 7 is done

Post by crosscourt »

For most users time to switch from Windows 7 as support ended today, except for those paying for the Enterprise level support over the next 3 years.

More highway robbery from Microflop. I have to use 7 at work and it TOTALLY sucks. We're to get new computers next week from this wannabe IT goof who can't get it together. I just keep my mouth shut and deal with it. When the entire thing crashes, I just sit there and say "NOT MY PROBLEM" .... 😈

Everybody is scrambling. Ive been doing install of Win10 for many people, getting my wife setup and my association finally bit the bullet and got my boss a new computer, considering we use it for the whole condo complex.

Got my first Microsoft nag message about switching away from Win7. They slipped it in with an update it appears.

From what I'm reading it's not supposed to nag you constantly though. More of a 1-time thing.

I actually booted Win10 yesterday to do updates. Hadn't booted Windows in a couple months, so the updates took quite some time since I had to do a few programs manually, used Ninite to update a bunch, and of course Windows had it's own updates.

Updating in Win10 so far has been relatively painless.

Most of the major anti-virus/malware makers are going to support Win7 for two more years.
