Yeah, I had read that. I think there's one major one that said they're not going to if I remember the article correctly I read it in. But it's still a kinda big risk IMO, given that the underlying OS is still not receiving any security updates.

Given that Win7 is done Microsoft is still releasing updates and add ons, go figure.

I would imagine there are quite a few companies with existing service contracts with M$ and they will still do this for a while, I think they did that with XP when it was first phased out.

They initially wanted to release Edge to Windows 7 and not all the updates have been security related. Enterprise users still get support for up to three years but outside of that the rest makes no sense. XP had a huge market share that didnt go away so they had no choice but to support it longer than they had intended.

They did finally release Edge (chromium) for Win7 the day AFTER the last Windows updates were released for Win7. Somewhat funny, IMO.

I switched 4 years ago and windows 10 is pretty good. I am happy with its performance too.
