More information here.
Regardless of the hardware, all 500 of the world's fastest supercomputers have one thing in common: They all run Linux.

Why would anyone want to run Micrflop with all the bloat it has...??? You guys should see the problems I'm having at work with Windblows 7. They're promising me new gear after next week . The "IT" shrub they got is clueless. I get really pissed when I'm trying to run a parts dept. and things keep crashing. My boss flipped out yesterday, and his computer is running Windows 10, locked up twice. If you mention Linux to the IT douche bag,he just rolls his eyes, and dismisses you. Not good to do ....with my bad temper😠😠😵👹

Win 7 installs probably have been quite awhile and you have to maintain them but I will say Win7 does a lot better with long term installs than previous versions of Windows. Then they install apps that dont always get updated and over time have issues with the OS. Win10 it depends what version hes running and if hes updated to at least the 1903 version. No doubt Linux is better for stability and long term installs.

We're so busy,we don't even have time to wonder/worry about that. They said yesterday that the new system will begin to arrive next week. I'm very sceptical that it will work the way I need it to,so I can search the parts I need. The IT shrub doesn't listen to what I have to say,is very dismissive,so I doubt it it will solve anything. ( 15 minutes in a steel cage with me,would solve that problem) but we live in "politically correct" society ,so that won't happen...😠😠😠😵😤

I'm a bully, I'd beat the proper thought processes into him. Although that's probably why you suggested it. :D
