The only issue I have with these instructions is they're telling everyone to use sudo for EVERYTHING, when most of what they're doing (creating files in users home, setting user owned files as executable) doesn't require root privileges.

Yes I would agree it is bad practice to use sudo for so many commands that don't need it, I am working on a beginners guide and should have it available in a few days in the tutorials section of my site (still under construction)

Most guides like this tend to lean towards sudo but youre welcome to emailo Gary and ask him about it. I posted this as a stopgap till Dai brings out his own guide. Id rather have unique content but even Dai has a life.
