I've used webcamoid, Kamoso and Cheese. Webcamoid I used for a while because Kamoso wasn't in the debian repos (still isn't, but it's in Neptune repos). I prefer Kamoso to it. While performance doesn't SEEM difference, the Kamoso has such a more functional UI. Cheese also seems fine if you're on gtk-based desktop.
