Good news regardless of what distro you are using, watch your repos for the release announced by Mozilla today.

Yeah, I'm waiting for ESR to get updated in Debian to switch back to ESR channel. Right now even SID still has 52 ESR, although it has 60 for "mainline" release.

Debian is very slow, but MX 17 and Ubuntu Mate already have Firefox 60

Oh, well they have 60 in SID, and have since the day after it was released. But it's labeled as a "mainline" release only still. If you install the -esr version of Firefox, it still redirects to v52.

Im always impressed with MX17 as they will set it up so you can use Chrome or FF 60 even though its based on Debian 9 and typically would use the FF ESR or Chromium. They give users an easy path to use optional software with a one click option.

There's a few distro's that do that. MX does have one of the better implementations for a debian based distro, though, yes.

They offer kernels and other apps and features with a one click option, along with the MX Tweaks for various common functions like inxi.

60-esr is now in Debian Experimental. I switched on my desktop from 60 to 60-esr today to start testing. Not surprisingly, at this point there's basically no difference.

Alot of RPM/Debian 9 distros havent moved to it which surprised me. PCLinuxOS was the only one. Most are using 52.8ESR

From what I've read, Debian plans to move to 60 ESR when 60.2 is released, as that's when 52-ESR will be EOL'd.
