I use Firefox because it can be customized quite a bit and I dont want a Chrome style experience. I find the speed of Firefox excellent and really dont see it as slower than the Chrome based browsers.

I use Firefox because I don't want all the potential security issues of Chromium based browsers. I keep Chromium around as a secondary browser for times when something doesn't work on Firefox or doesn't work well, but performance issues for me are far more common on Chromium than Firefox (Facebook or Reddit on Chromium scrolling will come to a CRAWL). I'm overall happy with Firefox and have no intention of switching anytime soon. I tested Brave and was very underwhelmed by it's "security" imporovements, which I saw as security downgrades compared to my Chromium config with Brave and it's "preferred" ads which aren't blockable.

I agree with everyone else. I have had Firefox as my main browser for a long while and have been satisfied with it. For just casual stuff I will generally go with the DE's built in browser. Konqueror for Trinity and KDE and Epiphany/gnome-web for Gnome/gtk based systems, because I think they tie into the system better and are lighter on resources. But for things I want to feel secure I stick with Firefox. Brave looks nice, but a lot of its options just seemed a bit confusing. And oh my "good ads", "approved ads", "safe ads", are all oxymorons.

Brave is essentially what Chrome should be rather than the emasculated version put out by Google. It allows all the config stuff missing in Chrome and in fairness I have not had any issues running it.

OK - I wouldn't trust it to do any financial stuff, but otherwise it's a good alternative.

For Chrome/Brave, Rescroller is the best extension yet for actually making the hideous pencil thin thing that the fashionistas have imposed on the world into a normal shape and size scrollbar.
