Plasma 5.17 released!

More here. Will have to see if this is already in Arch yet or not tonight. Should be in Neon already, so will need to update that to prepare.

I've gotten part of it in my work computer, wasn't 100% realeased this morning but was mostly. Kinfocenter is still showing 5.16.5, but most of the actual stuff is updated to 5.17. I'll have to update here again to finish the update.

Yup, just upgraded again, and after another 100+ now (after 200+ this morning) I'm now on Plasma 5.17!!

Havent been running any KDE distros recently so Ill have to give it a look. My work laptop uses Neon.

Just updated Neon and really didnt see a lot different but Ill give it a closer look later.

5.17 is out for Arch as well, setting on one of my ARch laptops (that I did the testing for the AX card with) and updating right now.

So far no issues with 5.17 and its strange seeing other KDE distros still sitting on 5.14.5

It is, although 5.18 will be a LTS so almost everything that uses KDE should in theory upgrade to that. I KNOW neptune plans to do so, I expect Debian to do so. Kubuntu 18.04 might not, however.

I hope thats the case with 5.18 and distros dont drag their feet.

Just going off of history here...

Neptune I expect will be quick at adopting it.
If Debian does adopt it like I expect, they'll drag their feet.
Mageia if they adopt it will drag their feet.
Who knows with Rosa, they're the most irritatingly unpredictable distro.
Fedora will not move to it in 31, they'll wait till 32 releases and it will be in that
I would imagine PCLOS would move to it rather quickly.
Kubuntu will not adopt it in 18.04 or 19.10, they'll wait for 20.04

(BTW, 5.18 is scheduled for Feb 2020 release if you didn't already know).

Neptune has improved and Ive enjoyed using it. They even provided some nice custom wallpapers.
