So, downloaded the latest build of WPS office today. And SO FAR, in my limited testing, all the issues that was plaguing this are gone. Quite a polished looking office suite at the moment!!

Now, not 100% certain that it's all fixed, but I'm hopeful.

I've installed it on a couple machines to test, and uninstalled SoftMaker Office Pro from a few (they broke inserting of Pivot Tables).

I don't think I have anything installed on Windows, and try to have various different things installed on linux distro's. Right now it's still mostly SoftMaker for full featured suites. I do have OnlyOffice desktop editors on almost everything, and it's FANTASTIC for quick things, but doesn't support things like Pivot Tables (web version does), so I keep something else installed. LibreOffice is probably the most fully functional nowadays. It's gotten to the point that it makes it really hard to consider upgrading to Softmaker's next paid version in fact it's so good.

I really like OnlyOffice for most basic tasks. SUPER fast to open, can do everything from a single window, good compatibility with M$ Office if you need to share files. The desktop editors are missing a lot of the more advanced features, but for basic things, it's absolutely fantastic. I actually use it to keep my resume up to date nowadays.

Isn't it though. I've been using it do a lot of stuff here the last few days, and it's AMAZING the level of just thorough improvement they've done. In every way, functionality, look and feel, polish. I'm not willing to say it's become my favorite, but it's at least in the conversation now!! Given a few usability issues (Pivot Tables, as previously noted), I'd probably take WPS over FreeOffice right now. Not so certain about LibreOffice, while the inability to format pivot tables is annoying, it is at the end of the day only an EXTREMELY minor issue (and not a usability issue, just a hassle). And even as much improved as it is, still not as fast as OnlyOffice desktop editors if you just need to do something quick and simple. But hey, that's a HUGE improvement from even 4 months ago!!
