Re: Opera 62 released
I should try Opera again. I know I was highly unimpressed with it last time I tested it...but could have improved...
Re: Opera 62 released
Well, I was wrong about it having improved...
It installs flash plugin without asking (I don't want flash plugin).
Then it has toolbars ALL OVER. Bookmarks toolbar, extension toolbar, geez, where am I supposed to browse (slight exaggeration of size)??
Then, while it supports SOME of the chrome plugins, it doesn't support them all. So bookmarks menu, giving you a single button that pops a menu up with your bookmarks (much faster access than anything else I've found, and no toolbars to deal with) is one that doesn't work. And I can't find any form of a replacement that DOES work with Opera.
I'll give it another try in a few years again. For now, I'm writing it off as still unusable.

I only use it as an occasional alternative to other browsers and more often with Windows rather than with Linux.

Re: Opera 62 released
Occasionally I have issues with Firefox and certain websites. Typically it happens near new releases so having an alternative is a must. It happens to all browsers with certain websites.

I also use Midori even though its not perfect either but is very lightweight, even compared to Opera.
