Microsoft Edge coming to Linux

Post by crosscourt » Sat Nov 09, 2019 3:27 pm

I think I read this over at itsfoss.com but why do they think that Linux users would want to use their Chromium based browser.

I can't see many wanting to use it, but if they get it added to repos, I can see people installing it if nothing else for the oddity.

Being Chromium based has garnered some attention from Linux users otherwise most see it as unnecessary.

I would guess some serious Linux users might test it but I would imagine most would just ignore it as a piece of "Windows junk".

Bing drives me nuts as when you search for say FreeOffice, it inundates you with Microsoft Office info. Certain softwares also get ignored.

I think most search engines do this to some extent, it's amazing sometimes when a site by the exact name you type into a search engine can be on the second page!!! The power of advertising eh?!

Most tailor the information to you to a point but Microsoft takes that to a slightly higher level.
