Dell E6400/6420 laptops with docks work so well that I gave up on the Dell 7010 usff as they are just too limited versus the laptops.

Yup, that's why I switched to laptops too. Off-topic, but my last desktop (Athlon II x4 ???) using onboard graphics (not even sure what board anymore) is still kicking. I had given it to a friend of mine (Debian jessie & Windows 7). It's since been upgraded to Debian Stretch and is still running (although apparently a lot of errors according to him). He actually stopped using Windows entirely on it.

I still have 4 of the 7010 SFF and one 7010 mid tower thats my older gaming machine with Windows 7. Slowly but surely Ill be making a larger change to laptops down the road even though my wife tends to prefer desktops but Ill work on her a bit.

A resident here in the condos sold me another E6420 with 2.3ghz i5, 4gb of ram and a 320gb drive so Im set now as I can set one up for my wife down the road. The E5410s Im not that wild about so not sure what Ill do with them. I love the fact that you can slip hard drives in and out of the E6400 series very easily/quickly, which works great for testing distros.

Now that most of my laptops work with my dock partially, I actually haven't been on craigslist looking at laptops as much. Still some, I mean, I'm still me.

I can't say as I blame you for not wasting the money putting 16 GB in a dual core (unlike some people), but it does look really nice when you have like 6 applications running and 30 tabs open and still only 15% ram usage.
