Neptune works but MX17 doesnt. Mint 19 XFCE doesnt work either but its been a bit interesting. Some of the live cds havent worked but after installing suddenly it works.

Of course new e6400 with Win7 popped into the E dock and it works with no issues. It had to install some of the hardware but shouldnt be an issue.

Ok so far here are the distros that work with the Edock,

Kubuntu 18.04
OpenMandriva LX 3.03
Neptune 5.4( has some minor issues, including update problems not related to EDock)

Neon,PCLinuxOS.Lubuntu 18.04, Ubuntu Mate 18.04, Mint 19 XFCE, Linux Lite 4.0, Mageia 6, ROSA R10, MX17, all dont work.
Will keep trying other distros and even though KDE seems to have the best luck, a lot of KDE based distros didnt work.

Ive tried repeated times with Neon but its the usual, get to the login screen, login and nothing. It goes to a generic screen and sits there doing nothing.
The XFCE distros are the same way, along with many of the RPM distros. Lubuntu 16.04 allowed me to get to the desktop screen but then major issues ensue like starting Firefox and the screen cant be maximized to name one. Some distros you cant even get to the login screen. Im going to continue testing distros to see what happens.

I may try a fresh install of Neon to see if that improves the situation.

Neon doesnt work even with fresh install. I tried Mint Cinnamon 19 and Im typing on the live cd right now. Seems to work fine which would be nice as i really enjoy using Cinnamon. Ill do a fresh install and see what happens. Performance on the live cd is excellent.

Mint Cinnamon 19 installed easily and working great. Resource usage is a bit high but its speed is excellent given the age of the hardware. No glitches at all after updating and getting ready to test multimedia for issues and speed. Interesting that the XFCE version doesnt work, havent tested Mate yet.

Gave Mint 19 mate a try and it didnt work at all and wouldnt boot with live cd, even in compatibility mode. Ubuntu Mate 18.04 reacts the same and Im not sure what the difference is between the Cinnamon and Mate versions that allows Cinnamon to work but Mate not to work.

Found another distro that works with the EPort, Bodhi 5.0 using Moksha based on Enlightenment. Had no issues with the live cd and it ran very well.

Installed Bodhi 5.0 with the Dell E6400 in dock and everything went fine. It appears E19 works with the dock so if youre looking for another alternative, keep that in mind.
