That sounds like a pain that it takes that long to shift profiles.

It could be, but I don't usually switch. I usually use it off charge until it's around 10%, shut down, plug in, and then take it off when it's probably fully charged. I only switched to verify it actually does recognize it.

I run so many laptops with older batteries, sometimes things dont work out that well, so waiting would be an issue.
How long does the battery last?

So far I've done 3 hours with no issues, then used it a little while at work today. Battery is at 89% (edit: life, not charge)(I actually had the previous owner do a battery report in Windows before I bought it). I'm guessing I'll get 4-5 hours as is. 6-7, maybe even 8 if it was a new battery. Given the ultra high resolution and the fact that the LCD is pretty bright (required, glossy touchscreen), that's pretty good, doubly when you realize this is a Broadwell chip, NOT an Atom based Celeron/Pentium.

So I have found an issue. Low power modes it DOES NOT like. Hibernate plain fails, suspend works perfectly for going to sleep, but waking fails. I tried both the 4.9 and 4.16 kernels, no difference. Given that I basically never use sleep, kinda doubt I'm going to spend any time solving this issue. I just set it to turn off the screen when it's closed when on battery (i always configure to do nothing when on screen closed when charging).

I dont use sleep/hibernate so never worry about whether it works or not.

Yeah, only reason I even tested it was because I was walking around and happened to close it. :D
