Crucial MX500 SSD

Post by crosscourt »

Just switched out of older 2tb Seagate standard drive to the Crucial MX500 2tb SSD. Win10 really doesnt seem to like standard drives and even with optimizing it got slower and slower. What a difference with the MX500 and the system loads Win10 in less than 5 seconds. Looking forward to gaming with this new drive and I got it cheap.

MX500 is one of the funniest drives. It's been made for like 8 years now or something. They've swapped controllers, NAND, everything in it to keep it profitable but still performing as good as it can for it's limitations, and it just keeps being made...

Crucial as well as a number of tech sites list 2017 as the release date for the MX500. I first looked at them back in 2018 but the recent model has quite a few improvements over the original. Reviews have always been favorable for this drive with its excellent speed, stability and long term reliability.
