Dell Latitude 7370

Post by crosscourt »

Just picked one up on Ebay for $215 with 120gb SSD,13.3" FHD display, 8gb of ram and a M7 1.2ghz cpu. Going to use it for work and my wife can also use it if she needs it. Ive got another 8gb of ram and a 128gb SD card so Ill probably use it as is for now and consider upping the hard drive later on. Time to move forward and get rid of some of the older hardware. Ill keep the two E6440s I have for now but the other laptops are 10-12 years old.

Went ahead and picked up another WD Blue M.2 2280 500gb SATA ssd as it performed great on my 7470. Downside is it uses a USB type-c charger rather than the standard Dell charger and doesnt have an ethernet port. Looks like the USB to ethernet adapter I have from my Chromebooks will come in handy.
On the flip side it far more ports than my 7470 does.

Once you get used to USB-C chargers, not having that will become a downside. It's so nice to not have to think what charger a laptop uses, as I can take ANY charger from ANY laptop to plug in ANY laptop. Chuwi, HP, Dell, Lenovo, all compatible chargers.

The issue is for now the 7370 is the only laptop I have that uses the USB-C charger. Down the road it will be a plus.

Yeah, the first laptop that uses USB-C is a pain, once EVERYTHING uses it, it's an absolute blessing that you begin to wonder how you ever managed to tolerate laptops that used different proprietary plugs. :D

The last 3 Dells I had that used Dell's proprietary plugs used 2 different plugs...big reason why I was happy to move to USB-C. Even staying within 1 brand, crap shoot if my existing chargers will work.

What attracted me to the 7370 was the fact that the overall chassis is in fact a 12" laptop but the really narrow display bezel still allows them to use a 13"FHD display. Thats partly the reason why they dropped the ethernet port and the fact that its an Ultrabook.
