Lately Ive been using Chromebook more than my Linux or Win10 laptops. My wife is the same way as shes forsaken her Win10 laptop entirely for Chromebook. It started slowly then I was using it a lot for watching online content in bed and in the comfy chair. Then I started using it for work and now for a lot of my everyday tasks.

Thinking of getting a Acer 315 Chromebook. !920x1080 HD/15.6inch screen,64gb SSD,4gb of ram, micro sd card slot and the N4020 celeron with 4 USB ports. They have a version with the AMD A4 but they are much more expensive.

Just ordered it on the Acer site for $236 with warranty. Looking forward to getting it. It has a wider variety of USB ports and double the number of my other Acer. The card slot will be my extra storage solution as Ill be using Linux apps on this system.

Not the biggest fan of the N4020 with it only being 2 core/2thread, but for what it needs to do for ChromeOS, I admit it's quite sufficient. Kinda surprising that the A4 is much more expensive, while it's a LITTLE more powerful than the Atom processors, it's not like it's a huge difference.

Given the battery lasts up to 12.5 hours, and for what Im using the Chromebook for doesnt require a lot of power, it will work just fine. The A4 based systems are in the high $300s to mid $400s which is even high when compared to the new N4020 systems that top out around $300 with most well below that.

My old acer has the N3160 which is a 4 thread at 1.6ghz, burst to 2.24 with a 2mb cache. The N4020 is a 2 thread with 1.1ghz bursting to 2.8ghz with a 4mb cache. In most of the benches Ive seen the N4120 outperforms the N3160 but we arent talking by a huge amount. The N4020 has much better bandwidth utilizing DDR4.

You'll still get your Chromebook before I get my T14. :(

Still, ultimately the T14 having a waiting list is a good thing. It means demand for it is FAR outstripping what they expected demand to be. Maybe fully put Ryzens on par with Intels as far as build options (Intel is the only one with the option for a 500-nit 4K LCD) in the future when they see they are wanted.

Sorry you have to wait so long for your T14.
