Yeah, for me the dark themes are just really unpleasant to use and unattractive. Many also I find that being so dark makes it difficult for me to read. But I'm also color blind, which has always caused people to say I had odd preferences in terms of colors.

With this configuration, this was about $2K (tiny bit more) when it was new. I traded $700 + the T470 that I had paid $275 for about 3 weeks ago. General going rate right now in great condition for these specs is ~$1200. Outside where I would have liked, but I figured I won't be able to buy a laptop for a while due to the Vette repairs, and this is a REALLY good price given the specs and condition of the laptop. I've saved a LOT of money over the last 3 months since I haven't been driving, probably saving close to $100/week in gas, so while I didn't WANT to spend that much, I didn't have to touch my savings or anything like that, I had it available.

I remember back in the day when the Dell E6400 full featured went for around $2000. Now those same laptops go for cheap and continue on with technogeezers like me, :)

That's actually the price of the slightly over mid-level build of this laptop. You had the option of upgrading to a Core i9 mobile w/ GTX 1080 and 4K display.

Yeah, you can get the Razer up over $3,000. The CURRENT model maxes at $3999 (with no add-ons), I think the price went up about $150 from the model's I had max build though.

By far. Heck, the ONLY reason I spent as much as I did on it was because the T470 and A485 are so close to identical (physically) as to be quite annoying so I wanted to get rid of the T470 for something. I literally 3 days after I bought it put it on Craigslist for trade. Basically put a too high for what it should sel for price and stated quite plainly that I was looking for trades primarily. Guy contacted me with the Razer saying he wanted something that was better on battery life when not on a desktop. Win-Win.

OK, so I had to change the scheme. I was using it today at work (I physically went in the office today to get ready to onboard a new hire Monday) and it was just too much yellow. Still a lot of yellow, but had to change the main plasma theme to one which doens't follow system color scheme to get rid of the yellow panel and menu...

I have noticed 1...I guess, annoying thing with Razer. To upgrade to BIOS v1.05, you download file version 1.0.8.
To upgrade to BIOS 1.08 (current), the file version you download is 1.1.1.
