My AX200's will be here Friday/Saturday!!

Post by tlmiller »

So the original person I bought them from was a scam. Had AX200's in hte title, but 7265's in the body...and shipped 7265's. So I got refund from him (and he must have known he was trying to scam and didn't want to get banned, didn't even ask for cards to be returned) and ordered from China (and saved about $.80 in the process!! :D :D ). They arrived at the Phoenix USPS today. Which means tomorrow they'll be sent to the Mesa PO, and Friday or Saturday they'll be out to me.

Decided to keep the 9260 in the 7375, and put the AX200 in the 5289 instead. I just like the laptop more since it has the high speed NVMe drive instead of the slower SATA drive.

Actually, arrived today. The 7490 & 5289 both are running WiFi6/802.11AX now!! And the little 3379 has been upgraded to the 9260 from the Atheros 9377 (1x1 card to 2x2 card).

One downside. I had to move off the LTS channel and back onto mainline on Arch as AX200 requires 5.0 or newer kernel for support. Which means I'll get a new kernel every 20-30 minutes. Annoying.

It's not TOO bad since I don't use the gui update reminders. But every time I do updates, I'll get a new kernel until 5.4 is released and I return to the LTS channel.
