Re: My top 5 distros May 2018

For me, I'm still boring:

1. Debian
2. Arch (via Anarchy installer)
3. Fedora 28
4. Gallium OS 2 (hoping they soon get 3.0 out, although I do have my Chromebook up for sale)
5. Neptune

Re: Firefox 60 and Firefox 60 ESR released

There's a few distro's that do that. MX does have one of the better implementations for a debian based distro, though, yes.

Re: Firefox 60 and Firefox 60 ESR released

Oh, well they have 60 in SID, and have since the day after it was released. But it's labeled as a "mainline" release only still. If you install the -esr version of Firefox, it still redirects to v52.

Re: Still Using Xp??

Agreed with Crosscourt. At this point it's just way too insecure to use. Especially when there's alternatives that can be found for free and for basic usage are perfectly up to date and secure, and easy enough to use if there's no specialty usage scenarios.

Re: Fedora 28 releases

Happened to be on my Fedora 28 machine today, and looked up to see if there were any reports of this issue, and it had indeed been reported and there was a workaround. Modifying the Clementine.conf file to change the type of Analyzer to None and it works just fine. Since I don't use that feature any...

Re: Firefox 60 and Firefox 60 ESR released

Yeah, I'm waiting for ESR to get updated in Debian to switch back to ESR channel. Right now even SID still has 52 ESR, although it has 60 for "mainline" release.

Re: WEC coverage is quite AWFUL....

Was watching the IMSA race at Mid-Ohio today, now THAT was pretty good coverage. And a good race, overall, despite the Prototypes finishing in the same order they started.

Re: Ubuntu Budgie whistles up a better remix

So...it's a remix of Ubuntu that uses the budgie desktop from Solus, which is itself a remix of Ubuntu using the budgie desktop? Maybe I'm missing the point, but...what is the point of releasing a remix of the same OS that has the same alternative desktop as an already existing remix of the OS that ...

Re: Crisis at Void Linux as lead developer goes missing in action

In some ways it's really too bad. While far from my favorite OS, it definitely showed promise. Very fast, I loved the runit initialization system for the simplicity. Lots of packages weren't quite perfect due to their expecting systemd and so certain things didn't work, but lots of potential was the...
