I can use ~ without a problem... I would guess it's a language/keyboard problem. Does it work on your system?

This is a great feature of apt and it will make installation of .deb files much easier especially for new users, thanks for posting it tlmiller :)

Yes I would agree it is bad practice to use sudo for so many commands that don't need it, I am working on a beginners guide and should have it available in a few days in the tutorials section of my site (still under construction)

I have looked into it and it would appear that phpbb does not support (and no plans for the future either) RSS, but I can implement an ATOM feed which can be read my many RSS feed readers, would that be sufficient or should I look for a hack to use RSS?
