Re: This surprised me on swapping hard drive.
This is generally a feature of Linux. Yes, it only installs the required drivers for the hardware "that it finds" As in, change the hardware and the required drivers are automatically installed. Look in /lib/modules/$(uname -r) for all the kernel modules available. The only problems can oc...

You're luck. I've had high blood pressure for years (30+) and am on:
Amlodipine
Atenolol
Atorvastin
Clopidogrel
Doxazosin
Lisinopril
I rattle sometimes

Re: AV LINUX MX
Depends on your greeter manager. MX generally uses lightdm.
Look in /etc/lightdm for lightdm.conf.
There is probably a line in there autologin-user.
Put in your user name.

Re: CASSETTE TAPE TRANSFER
I use arecord (command line) (only does .wav, so no compression)
arecord --device=hw:2,0 -c 2 -f cd -t wav -vv -V stereo | tee "$recdir/$rec" | aplay
where $recdir and $rec are destination
aplay then plays the requisite .wav file
use flac or sox to convert .wav file to whatever.

Mine: arecord -l **** List of CAPTURE Hardware Devices **** card 2: CODEC [USB AUDIO CODEC], devi...

Wouldn't it be lovely - if everyone only liked the same kind of music.

Re: Thunderbid 115 Supernova is here!
I tried it! Doesn't like my stored passwords. Won't store any new passwords until secmod.db is deleted. Overall, UI is a bit ropey. Gone back to TBird52. It does everything how I like (or have got used to) it. Various add-ons just don't exist any more - e.g. AdBlock Plus/Element Hider, Thunderbrowse...

Re: WHat's your Favorite Sci-fi Movie : Dune books
I found the Dune prequels very readable - Bryan Herbert - going back to the rise of the machines, overthrow of the machines, backstories for House Atreides, Harkonnen and Corrino. I lost interest in the rest after Children of Dune.
