Re: What hardware are you looking towards for 2023

I mean, when I move to new hardware it's for a reason too. It's just that reason is USUALLY "Oh look, it's shiny and pretty!!! I want it!!!" :D

Re: What hardware are you using?

Surprisingly never had the counterfeit issue yet. I did have 1 order that never showed up, however Ali Express was very good (if slow) about refunding me the full amount including shipping & taxes. I will only pay them through paypal (I don't trust them with my CC details), and I won't buy anyth...

Re: What hardware are you using?

I've only had a few bad experiences. That's where I got my Dere laptop, many of my wifi cards I've purchased over the years, a bunch of SSD's, one of the replacement LCD's that I just installed recently, most of my prior Chuwi laptops, the tape I needed to do the LCD installs (both the stretchy tape...

Re: Your favorite apps of 2022

Yeah, I moved away from all my Windows clients that I hadn't told they needed to find someone else when I moved to AZ, and while I did pick up a few while I was with my wife (ie - her friends), I turned down any and all work on Windows from everyone else, and once her and I split, I turned down her ...

Re: Your favorite apps of 2022

Dont think its quite that bad but glad you agree, :) Eh, we have very different preferences on most things. Not saying there's anything wrong with that, just the facts. We generally like totally different stuff. You're a mini desktop fan, I'm a laptop fan. You're a fan of displays that are a little...

Re: What hardware are you using?

So I bought one of the "980Evo" m.2 SATA 2TB drives from AliExpress. They had a sale so that AFTER shipping and tax, it was $35. And it ships via DHL, so supposed to be here by Jan 11. Obviously, I'm aware there's at least a decent chance it's a completely scam drive that's got a fake firm...

As a rarity, you and I are in total agreement on this.

Re: What hardware are you looking towards for 2023

I don't PLAN on getting anything new...however...we know how well I do NOT buying things, so it's unrealistic to think that I won't.

So, being more realistic, I would at some point in the year like to get a Raptor Lake laptop, and also a Zen4 based laptop.

Re: Fedora 37. KDE and Wayland

MOST laptops that don't have low resolution monitors scale automatically. I haven't owned a laptop since Win10's release that doesn't have scaling set by default upon installation of Windows. So no, it's not incorrect, you just mostly own desktops, which it doesn't scale on most desktops that I've s...
