Re: Thinkpad T580
I mean, I use enough hardware that someone give me a decent idea of what's actually important for them in a laptop, and I can make pretty good recommendations.

Re: Top ten best music players in Linux
I've used Elisa, Audacious, Strawberry, rhythmbox and Deadbeef. Of those, Strawberry is also my favorite, and Elisa is by far the worst of them IMO.

Re: MediaTek MT7922A/AMD RZ616
Yeah, MediaTek is getting more popular. There's several OEM's that are starting to use them for their AMD machines, and obviously because MediaTek open sources their drivers, they're quite popular with linux users for their USB dongles.

Plasma by KDE 5.26.5 released
January Bugfix released
I'm a bit slow posting this one, it was actually released Tuesday 1/3, but while getting ready to post it, I got distracted and forgot all about it.

Re: What hardware are you using?
Don't know, didn't try. The only other (usable) browser I have installed is Vivaldi, and there's just SOOOOOOOOOOO much that needs to be changed for it to be tolerable.

Re: Quickemu and Quickgui
Kinda looks neat, I looked up the projects and can see them being useful for some folks. I keep all the ISO's to do an install on my NAS of the most current version (except Debian, which I have the latest full DVD 1 & 2 version iso for 8, 9, 10, and the netinstall of 11, just in case I need to t...

Re: What hardware are you using?
I certainly wasn't expecting to have issues, but it did. Haven't tried again since I had the issue, so it could have been something as simple as an update applied in Windows, I won't know until I boot it again. Because of how flaky the touchpad is (it's not very accurate at all and will sometimes ig...

Re: What hardware are you using?
Figured I might as well see if it can be made to be usable. So far with a lot of "explorer patcher" options it's mostly usable. Of course, then I ran into other issues. Firefox on Windows I can't get NFL.com videos to play (at all). And it wouldn't let me log into office.com, just kept goi...

Re: What hardware are you using?
So decided to try out some stuff on the little cheapy Dere. Since I put the MS30 1TB in it, decided to use it to (attempt)to find a tolerable setup for Win11. So got Win11 Pro on there, dual booting with Debian 12. Mostly Debian 12 works with it. I did have to install the firmware-realtek package fo...
