Re: The weather has been crazy

I would love if that were my forecast. We need it.

Re: My new gaming pc will have Ryzen

I almost grabbed a 3700x yesterday. One popped up on offerup for $275 + $5 shipping. VERY nearly decided to grab it, since that would give me even more thermal headroom (3700x=65watt instead of 95watt)... But ultimately decided to keep waiting, the 1700x is still quite adequate for my needs for now.

Re: DELL OPTIPLEX PROBLEM

Yeah, I'm a big fan of buying used too. Currently nothing I own (computer-wise) was purchased new. The closest would be new open box (the Dell desktop I just rebuilt). Although the case it's in was purchased new, as well as the ram. Everything else was used from the existing or factory refurb.

Re: Netrunner 20.01 released

I probably won't bother testing it. You know me, why bother installing something that literally adds nothing of value to Debian if I can just install Debian and build it the exact same way? That's the one thing Netrunner used to offer, newer builds of software than Debian offered. If they've stopped...

Only issue was my email for some reason said I had the wrong password or wrong configuration, yet its the same as my laptop and it works fine. Iys a computer my COA boa...

Re: DELL OPTIPLEX PROBLEM

I've had a few sticks here and there fail. Haven't had any fail in a while, but back in the early days of DDR & DDR2, I definitely had failures. MIGHT have been helped to their grave in my case through overclocking...

Re: DELL OPTIPLEX PROBLEM

And if you want to go back to fully dual channel, you should be able to pick up a 4 GB DIMM pretty darn cheap, like $10-$15. I have my 2 old 8 GB DIMMS for only $25 each on craigslist, so unless it's REALLY old ram like 4 GB DDR2's (which were actually pretty rare), if you're patient and watch for i...

Ok, I thought so. Too bad, that would have given me a reason to take a look at it if they did. As is, meh...

Re: Netrunner 20.01 released

Don't I remember that at one point Netrunner ran newer versions of plasma desktop than came with stock Debian? Or am I smoking crack? Because this only has the Debian version of plasma with a custom theme...
