Do you use any of the Pi SOC's?

Re: Gecko Linux 150
When after first install it's set so that you're unable to do an update because the repos won't allow you to syncronize your local DB with them, then there's nothing IMO that needs to go further. The dev's horrendously screwed up and shouldn't have released such a massive issue. If that's the qualit...

Re: ROSA R10
I'm going to throw this on the Yoga 3 Pro to get rid of the stench of OpenSUSE and Gecko. See if it's improved for my usage scenarios. I know it was darn close to my liking it.

Re: Gecko Linux 150
At least now if someone asks me my least favorite or 2 least favorite distros, I no longer will have to mention the word Slackware. Always felt bad that I dislike that distro so much, but comparative to OS and Gecko, it's AMAZING.

Re: Gecko Linux 150
No, this is totally different. I can't update, I can't install anything. If I attempt to sync repo's, I get access to <repo> denied. I think I'll just go ahead and declare OpenSUSE and anything based on it to be utter, complete, total trash that makes Windows ME look like a stirling piece of workman...

Re: Gecko Linux 150
So I installed this, and while it might not try to reinstall anything, it won't update. EVERY opensuse repo gives "denied" when attempting to sync...

Re: OpenSUSE 15.01 Leap KDE
I looked it up, it's because it will reinstall all suggested deps every time. You can turn it off so that it will never install suggested dependencies (even on installing new apps), but if you don't, then if you remove something that's a suggested dependency, then next time you do a zypper dup (or f...

Re: 4 scanning tools for the Linux desktop
I use it occassionally for my wife's laptop. She does a lot of scanning, me not so much. In a humorous twist of fate from normal, I had our printer working in no time in linux including scanning over the network, but it took me like 10 minutes to get it working on Windows.

Re: OpenSUSE 15.01 Leap KDE
I'll have to check Gecko. OpenSUSE had improved a lot overall from how it was, but reinstalling apps I obviously have no desire for with EVERY update is simply unacceptable. How hard is it to put in logic like apt if upgrade = ignore suggests, if install = install suggests...

Re: RAR to FAT32 files
Gparted looks and works VERY similarly to the Windows disk management system. I will admit for all my love of many cli tools, when it comes to managing disks, I do prefer gui, and gparted is a life saver as it's very simple. In KDE-land, there's partitionmanager, which is essentially just a qt versi...
