Re: Mx Linux 17 Horizon review/plus follow up review

When you said you prerfered KDE that didnt surprise me as back in the day I wouldnt use anything else till the problems started to crop up particularly with KDE4 early on. I still think its the best DE for the power user, XFCE for the average user and Cinnamon for the Windows crossover user. I will ...

Re: hmmm....

My issues are many with Win 10 and they are going to tie the version to a specific cpu setup which to me is a complete deal breaker. Upgrade your system and pay more. Ive run both on my home workstation 10/7 and i didnt notice much of a difference in speed within the things i normally do between the...

Re: My top 5 Linux distros for March 2018

PCLOS forums theyll help you but they also direct to more info to help. If the Arch forums do those types of things then they need to change.

Re: Mx Linux 17 Horizon review/plus follow up review

They designed for average users and thats really the way its always been with the overall Mepis community. People such as yourself with specialized needs and personal preferences wont like that aspect of MX17. Ive used so many distros, in the hundreds over the years I just dont have thos types of pr...

Re: My top 5 Linux distros for March 2018

Arch must be really bad as i detest the Debian forums. I was a part of the Mepis and PCLinuxOS forums for a long time and loved those communities.
They are still very open and welcoming to new people.

Re: The weather has been crazy

The wind was incredibly bad and I spent yesterday on the roofs of my condo complex making repairs to stop the wind from ripping the roof off the building. The main roof flashing was pulled up and off and i havent seen anything like this since the last hurricane that hit this area. Roof hatches were ...

Re: Downloading YouTube Audio

I had a friend register at their site last night and he had no problems at all.

Agree with Dai as i tend to stick to the included apps with most distros I use but of course adding certain apps like I prefer, usually email and browsers.

Re: My top 5 Linux distros for March 2018

Playing with Fedora 27 as well as Korora but as usual I run into minor issues with Fedora that are annoying. Korora I really like and saves me the effort of adding all the things i want in Fedora. You rate Debian 9 as number 1, i was expecting you to go with Arch. My list will probably have more cha...

Re: Calculate Linux 17.12.2 released

I do auto partitioning most of the time as I run only one distro per drive and its saves me time.
